Am I Losing My Touch?🤔
Can anyone else see the problem here.. to the ordinary eye these photos would seem like just regular cartoons. Two very different cartoons, but cartoons just the same.
To me however these cartoons are rude...absolutely rude..terrible. I can't understand how I screwed up. But about halfway through the project I knew that I had.
At first I thought it was the hair, I've never been really good at that. Drawing hair is difficult. I've always seemed to mess it up some kind of way. I guess I just can't understand the stroke of a pen that would be necessary to complete a perfect blade or curl fpr hair to come out perfect, but yet I try. "Kind of looks like a bad wig." That's what I think when I look at it, but my isn't she striking.
I like her face, I think she is very pretty .🤔
For a white woman. ( que laughter) And yes its necessary. As you can see the image I used for inspiration is clearly Asian, right? that's an Asian person Or at least Asian inspired. It's an Anime character I pulled up during a Google search. That's what I wanted to do, draw what I Saw. It seems to be the easiest art assignment to take on, especially being that I can't currently think well enough to create anything. And so I copy. Well I impress. And yet by some mistake, totally unexpected and truly unexplainable. I have, for the first time in a very long time, if not ever..created my own original character. I say that because she looks nothing like the first one. (#PROUD) Wow..she looks great.
Doesn't she?

At first I was miffed by the fact that they were different. I mean this is impression art...the customer has to be able to look at the character and understand what/ who it is that im drawing. I don't teally want to many " Is that me?" questions coming at me if I want to fet paid. But anyway, dramatically enough...in this instance you really can't say these two are even related. I mean except for the shirt..they do have the same shirt. But their faces, their faces are completely different. The youthful beauty of the inspiration character can't really be seen in my creation. Not can any of her Asian features. My creation is more mature looking. Her hair big and wild, her eyes locked in and intensely set upon her target. Kind of caddy wompass if you look at them. I think the left ones a little crossed. Seriously if im honest with myself, she kind of reminds me of one of the characters from. Hercules a Disney cartoon I once saw.
Anyway, even though its fun trying to place her, the original image in the tittle picture is the inspiration for the drawing.
So yeah, big fail on that one. I didnt complete the assignment and I think im starting to lose my touch. I don't know maybe I should practice more. Maybe focus in on small details, i dont know. Usually I can get the drawings pretty close . However this was a definite no go...back to the drawing board? I think yes...
But not today. I think today I am done...
Goodbye for now guys!
Abientot 👌 Salute🫡
